Okay, I'm pretty sure this book would've felt normal and scientific when the world was normal. Amidst the pandemic and crippled concentration, I took really long time to read this. Nevertheless, an interesting read. Prof. Daniel, an immunologist sets out to explain the intricacies of human immune system and it's working principles.
Survival is a constant battle against death, how does the immune system know when to respond to a threat? How and with what intensity should it respond? What happens if the immune system is triggered into an overdrive? How does the immune system differentiate between friendly bacteria and harmful ones? The questions are fascinating, answers even more. Understanding how this inner universe with billions of cells work might be key to cure diseases that cripple the immune system.
Fascinating read overall. Recommended!
